Nursery

Care is provided for infants through age 5 in the Nursery close to the sanctuary for Praise worship (Sundays, 9am), Sunday School (Sundays, 10am), and Sanctuary worship (Sundays, 11 am) and some special events. Our greeters are happy to direct you to the Nursery area of the church should you need assistance.

Nursery Coordinator Needed

At New Sharon UMC, we feel strongly that a consistent, loving, nurturing presence in our nursery is a vital part of our life together. With this in mind, we are seeking one or more members of our congregation who feel passionate about this ministry and have a desire to serve God and this church in this important ministry. The Nursery Coordinator(s) will be responsible for oversight of the nursery ministry so that infants and toddlers (newborn through age 5) and families using the nursery would experience the love of god in a safe, nurturing, loving, and hospitable environment. This includes recruitment, scheduling, and training of volunteers, ordering and upkeep of the supplies and equipment, and providing encouragement to parents and families of infants and toddlers. General Qualification and Responsibilities:
  • A growing Christian, deepening his/her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and modeling to others.
  • Desire to serve God.
  • Organizational and communication skills sufficient to ensure that the nursery is appropriately staffed each Sunday morning and for other church events as desired.
  • Passion for this important and essential ministry and possess the ability to research, suggest, and promote ways in which the nursery ministry can continue to grow and provide a loving, hospitable, safe, and nurturing environment for all children and families who are touched by New Sharon UMC.
